With Nintendo's lineup for the second half of 2008 still under wraps, speculation abounds: what will Nintendo reveal at E3?

A storage solution for Wii consoles.
A recent statement by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata suggests we might see a solution for the Wii's storage problem very soon. It's not clear whether Nintendo would provide a hard drive for the system or instead open up the SD Card for storage: right now, anything saved to the card cannot be run by the system, and there are limits to what can be saved.

Kid Icarus coming this holiday from Factor 5.
Strong rumors suggest a new game in the Parthena's Mirror franchise, better known as Kid Icarus in the US, under development by Factor 5, the developer behind Lair on PS3 and the Rogue Squadron franchise on N64 and Gamecube. I don't expect they'd call it Kid Icarus though, maybe just... Icarus.

Pikmin 3, Pikmin for Wii.
With an IR pointer, the Wii Remote would be the ideal controller for a Pikmin game. These games don't take long to develop, so it's not impossible for Nintendo to unveil a nearly-complete Pikmin 3 for Wii. This real time strategy franchise is also overdue for an episode, as Pikmin 2 happened several years ago.

Animal Crossing coming to WiiWare.
We already know Animal Crossing has an episode coming to Wii, and with the launch of WiiWare, I could imagine them deciding to make it a download-only affair with persistent online integration. There's no franchise Nintendo has that would work better in this configuration.

The new project from Retro Studios, whatever that may be.
It's all speculation at this point. Remakes of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 with Prime 3's controls and visuals? The resurrection of the previously cancelled Raven Blade? A new Metroid game? Retro's cancelled car combat or football game? It could be anything.

Disaster: Day of Crisis.
Now that Nintendo owns Monolith, the developer working on Disaster: Day of Crisis, they should have lit a fire under the game's development. We haven't seen anything about it for a while. Maybe it's almost done.

A new Nintendo DS or other handheld.
The Nintendo DS is an incredible success for Nintendo in every territory, boasting the strongest sales of any video game system in history. It may be about due for an upgrade (though of course, a backwards-compatible one) if it is to remain competitive against Sony's slowly strengthening PSP.

New Super Mario Bros 2.
After its successful launch, New Super Mario Bros prompted Nintendo to send out a survey asking those who bought it if they'd be willing to buy a sequel. It's hard to imagine anyone said no, because the game was great. Now would be about the time Nintendo would want to show a sequel.

A Nintendogs-type animal game for Wii.
Nintendogs has been the strongest selling game worldwide on the Nintendo DS. A sequel makes so much sense it's not even funny. With the Wii's improbable success, it's the ideal platform for a more feature-rich Nintendogs game.

The Legend of Zelda for Wii.
We saw a port of the Gamecube's Twilight Princess on Wii, and we saw Link's Crossbow Training. Now, Nintendo needs to show us just what Wii can do for The Legend of Zelda, and now's the time to do it. Surprise us with a trailer, or even some gameplay, and excite the fanbase once more.
